Incorporated in 1975 in a space above a Minneapolis bookstore, The Loft Literary Center has grown to become
the nation's largest and most comprehensive literary center. The nonprofit arts organization's mission is to "support the artistic development of writers, to foster a writing community, and to build an audience for literature." Offering something for everyone, Loft programs include readings by acclaimed local and national authors, classes, weekend genre festivals, competitions and grants, open groups, book clubs, writers' studios, and more.
